Our stakeholders are all affected by what we do as a firm. We are accountable to them as a result. As part of this relationship, it is important that they have access to information on the CR challenges we face, and what we’re doing to address these challenges. That’s why we’ve written this review.
It is our first formal CR review, but we will be reporting on our CR agenda every year from now on. The concept of CR is also not a new one for us: as lawyers we have always sought to perform our professional duties responsibly in our relationships with our clients, colleagues and the wider communities in which we and our clients do business.
This review focuses on the five key challenges we face in order to achieve our vision responsibly. These challenges were identified by the recent gap analysis carried out by our CR taskforce, as well as through listening to the views of our stakeholders and mapping them against our strategic priorities.
As this is our first CR review, we have included background information from outside the 2007/8 reporting year to help set the scene. However, all of the facts and figures used come from the 2007/8 financial year unless they say otherwise.
