Membership
We are a member of over 30 organisations and groups that deal with a wide range of CR issues, from the Advocates for International Development to the London Benchmarking Group. Working with these organisations helps us understand what our stakeholders are worried about, and allows us to check we are doing the right thing in response to the issues raised.

Advocacy
We want to lead the CR agenda in the legal sector, which means getting involved in the debates that CR creates – especially those around inclusiveness, and a law firm’s role to its clients and in the marketplace. We are actively involved in several professional forums where these sorts of things are discussed. Here are some examples of the work we’ve been doing:
Business in the Community (BITC) – David Cheyne, our senior partner, is actively involved in BITC’s leadership programmes. He recently led a "Seeing is Believing" visit to Hackney (taking business leaders into schools), and attended the May Day Summit on climate change, hosted by The Prince of Wales at St. James's Palace, in both 2007 and 2008.
David Cheyne also sits on the BITC marketplace leadership team and the leadership committee of the Legal Sector Alliance – a collaboration of law firms who want to take action on climate change.
In conjunction with the BITC, we also chair ProHelp – a UK network of more than 800 professional firms who provide free professional advice and support in their communities.
ENGAGE – We are heavily involved in this international employee-engagement campaign, through a number of our European offices. We’re also part of its leadership group. This initiative aims to get employees to use their skills to help develop healthy and sustainable communities.
Jill King, our HR director, is the Linklaters representative for the Employers Forum on Age, the Employers Forum on Disability, Opportunity Now, Race for Opportunity and Stonewall.
